Fashion Week Spring 2012 Recap Part 1

The first half of Fashion Week Spring 2012 is over. I've spent all morning pouring over the designers that have already shown to come up with some of my initial thoughts about the collections and possible trends for Spring.

Some of the trends I've noticed, and these are still in infant form since we are only half way through fashion week, are mixing prints, geometrics, stripes, oranges, and yellows:

BCBG MAX AZRIA:

DIANE VON FURSTENBERG:

CHARLOTTE RONSON:

My favorite shows so far have been:

TRACY REESE:

Everything about Tracy Reese's collection is warm, fun, sophisticated, and playful.

ERIN by ERIN FETHERSON:

Basically, anything that Erin Fetherson touches, I am a fan of. I love how she incorporates the old with the new, traditional silhouettes with a modern flair. This collection seems to extend the Mod trend, which I love, but adds in this gorgeous butterfly element.

CHRISTIAN SIRIANO:

I absolutely adore this entire collection. I think its my all-time favorite so far. It's just flawlessly chic. I love how he pairs these simple striped tees with sometimes and sometimes not voluptuous skirts. The gorgeous semi-pastel yellow-greens and pink-oranges are scrumptious and transport me to the French Rivera.

I can't wait to see what's left of NYFW! I'm planning on blogging about designers that I think fell flat as well, so stay tuned!
