GOOD MORNING.

ANOTHER SHORT POST. 

I have to start getting ready for work!

I'm still hanging on to my bright blues and oranges. I think this dress is primarily a fall dress (?), but who cares? The color is a perfect spring almost royal blue.

So I know I might get some flack for my socks. But seriously, have you seen those gorgeous Mulberry ads? Well they just make me want to wear socks with my sandals. Not to mention it's quite comfortable and cute.

IN OTHER NEWS, I cut my fringe. Yeah I know in these pictures I look really bangy in a mod way. Which is what I intended. But I mean, I just went back to my basically full side bang. I just couldn't wait for my fringe to grow out any longer.

THIS IS GOING TO HAVE TO BE A QUICK POST, EVEN THOUGH I FEEL THE OUTFIT WARRANTS MORE ATTENTION.

Gosh, what a few couple of weeks. I'm working full time now. I guess that means I'm full time tired.

I hope you are all enjoying the 'new' look of my blog. I think it's less distracting, and more like spring. It's much cleaner.

Anyway, if there is one pastel color I can't deny, it's mint. It might just be the fact that I absolutely adore the color green, especially the mintier hues. But who knows. I just know that I love this Vintage sweater so much. Just as much as I love my vintage wool blazer and pleated pants. Oh, preppy pleated pants! Oh, alliteration! Oh, english darling.

To be fair, I think this look was inspired (at least color wise) by the jazz age. Although, I think it looks more so like that because it was shot at the AUDUBON CENTER in PROSPECT PARK. Mostly I hope it looks like some preppy princess who's sick of wearing pleated skirts.

HEY EVERYONE. 

Just a quick update here. I've been adjusting to my new full time job, so I've been increasingly more tired and less likely to get out there and shoot some outfit pictures! I've got to say I'm totally bummed about this. I really wanted to capitalize off of the success of my last look. Oh well. 

I hope to do more writing on here as well. Again, adjusting to my new life is going to take some time so please bear with me! 

AND ABOUT MY LAST LOOK. Wow, what a surprise. I'm, quite honestly, still high off of the unexpected response from the photos! It's so validating to create something that you love so much, and then have people respond with love and admiration.

So check back here soon. It's been a while since I've found anything news/noteworthy to really comment on in the fashion world. Although I did hear that ANNA WINTOUR of VOGUE EDITOR IN CHIEF status did say (non verbatim quote) "OVER MY DEAD BODY WILL KIM KARDASHIAN EVER BE ON THE COVER OF VOGUE." 

Gotta respect that.

HEY LOOK! That's MY OUTFIT on the front page of CHICTOPIA.COM! I never thought one of my outfits would ever make it there. I am so proud of myself and flattered that this outfit has received as many votes as it has!

AND WE'RE BACK! Officially! How appropriate that my first post in the big city is prep school reminiscent, and less than dripping in pastels. 

Look, while everyone is tromping around in their best DAISY BUCHANAN wear, I'm still wearing wool skirts. And yes, the weather actually is still quite cold. So I'm not completely out of place.

I cannot tell you how much I love this outfit. It has everything an outfit I would love would have in it: preppy overtones, ties, polka dots, red, navy, brown, collegiate/nautical, WASP, GOSSIP GIRL, METROPOLITAN everything. YES, somehow I just discovered the genius that is WHIT STILLMAN after seeing his adorable/hilarious/awesome movie DAMSELS IN DISTRESS.

 It's funny how wearing something you wore at a particular time in your life can influence your thoughts. I feel this way with this outfit. And even if there are less than desirable yet still exciting and interesting moments attached to this particular outfit of mine, I still love it.

SO WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT FROM ME IN THE COMING WEEKS?

MORE PREP, MORE TIES (SCREW DETATCHABLE COLLARS, TIES ARE IT! (NOT REALLY THOUGH I STILL LOVE THEM)), LOAFERS LOAFERS LOAFERS, NAVY, RED, PILGRIM SHOES, WHITE, RED-ORANGE, AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF PASTELS.

SO, I believe since I signed some very serious binding contracts with this particular company, that I cannot disclose much, but that I am a newly hired VISUAL MERCHANDISER for AMERICAN APPAREL. I'm so excited to join a company that supports progressive social issues that I completely agree with and support. I also cannot wait to prove my styling worth by creating awesome displays that make you all rush into stores to buy their quality products! (PLUG.)

Life in my neighborhood (where I'm pictured) is nice and finally feeling secure.
